Dave is an award-winning director, videographer, and magazine editor with over 15 years of experience crafting compelling visual narratives across film, documentary, and branded content. His projects often explore themes of nature, identity, and social change, drawing from his extensive experience in filmmaking, journalism, and editorial leadership.

 

Dave is the editor of Resurgence  & Ecologist.  Described as the intellectual and spiritual voice of the British ecological movement, Resurgence & Ecologist occupies a rare position between environmental journalism, philosophy, arts and cultural criticism.  As the the founder and editor at Where the Leaves Fall and Village Raw magazines, Dave has a deep understanding of storytelling at the local and global interest level.

His portfolio also includes cinematic trailers, short-form social media content, and long-form documentaries, with a strong focus on environmental and sustainability narratives.

His personal projects include the feature documentary Y/our Music, which won Best International Feature at MUVI Lisboa and was nominated for Best Documentary at the Thailand National Film Awards. The film is an immersive exploration of Thailand’s diverse musical landscape, spanning traditional folk tunes, labour songs, classical pop, and the raw energy of urban indie music. The film weaves a rich, sensory tapestry of Thailand’s musical identity, transporting viewers from the clamour of Bangkok’s congested streets to the sun-scorched plains of Isan - capturing a world where diverse sounds coexist. The film is rated 8.2 on IMDB.

 

Minute Bodies: The Intimate World of F. Percy Smith is a mesmerising reinterpretation of the pioneering filmmaker’s work, blending his original footage with a contemporary score to create a hypnotic, dreamlike experience. F. Percy Smith, who captured the unseen wonders of nature from his home in suburban Southgate, north London, revealed intricate micro-worlds through his lens, and this film evokes the same sense of wonder he must have felt. Both alien and familiar, Minute Bodies immerses viewers in the beauty of the microscopic world, earning it a 7.7 rating on IMDb. The film was screened with a live score at venues including The Barbican and was released by BFI in the UK and Icarus Films in the US.
